Hi!  My name is Tamara Bridges Lyons and I am a middle grades mathematics teacher.  I am a native of Edgecombe County and also a graduate of North Edgecombe High School.  

I began my teaching career in 2002, when I was offered a teaching position at my former high school by my former principal.  I was a recent college graduate without a job and North was missing a math teacher.  I accepted the position, went back to school to obtain my teaching license and have never looked back.  

Teaching for me is giving back to my community and county that I grew up in.  It is a passion that has developed over time and a true work of the heart.  I enjoy each and every day and to see my students growing is amazing.
