I teach because I've seen how education systems can let students fall through the cracks. I teach because each person is unique and I believe each person deserves an education that meets their needs. Students deserve an education that is rigorous yet enjoyable that pushes them to learn more. My students are my family and I teach them so that they can achieve whatever they choose in their futures. Our students are our future, our hope, our promise.
I teach music because both music and teaching are my passions. Music is proven to have countless benefits and it gives my students the chance to express themselves when they might not always get that chance. Music is a haven that lifts us to a higher plane. Plus, musicians are just awesome.
