Summer Smart Program Announcement

Greetings Vikings!

Our Summer Smart Program starts tomorrow, June 8, 2021. Car riders can be dropped off starting at 7:45 & classes will begin promptly at 8am; dismissal is at 3pm. Students will follow the same protocols that were in place during the school year for on campus students which includes: temperature checks upon arrival, attestation forms filled out every day by the parent, water bottles for the students as the water fountains are not operable, & masks are required.

Homeroom teachers will be contacting parents with bus information as it becomes available. If you do not receive a call from your child's teacher regarding bus information, please be prepared to bring your child to school tomorrow morning. Our district transportation department is working diligently to get all students routed for transportation that have requested it.

Report cards can be picked up from the front office from 8am-4pm Mon-Fri of this week.

If your child received a possible retention letter and you did not call the school to confirm their attendance for the summer smart program, they are not on our list. You must call the school to confirm that your child will be attending. They are not automatically a part of the summer smart program just because the received a retention letter.

Those students who did not receive a retention letter but signed up for summer school, these students will be placed on a waiting list, as students who received a retention letter will get 1st placement.

All technology devices (chrome books & hotspots) must be returned back to the school by June 14, 2021. If devices are not returned, students will be charged for each device.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: All cell phones will be collected from students before they enter the classroom to ensure we maximize instructional time and that there are no distractions. Students will receive their cell phones back at the end of the day. Students do have the option to leave their cell phones device at home if they do not want them taken before entering the classroom & we welcome this best practice. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary actions. Please be reminded that students have missed a great deal of normal instructional time due to the pandemic and we want to make sure that we are utilizing all of our instructional time to the best of our abilities. We ask that our parents help to support us in this decision as we all want to work together to make sure our scholars are successful here at Pattillo & in life. Thank you!

If you are interested in your child attending face to face summer school, please complete the attached form by 4pm, Monday, May 17, 2021. This information is being collected & evaluated by the school district. More information will be provided once the responses from all Edgecombe County schools has been received.
